Tiger Dawson to Head Leadership Network’s Halftime Initiative

8/18/05

DALLAS, TX—Tiger Dawson has joined Leadership Network (www.leadnet.org) as Executive Vice President to oversee the non-profit’s rapidly growing Halftime initiative, a movement that seeks to inspire business and professional leaders to move “from success to significance.” He will also serve on the Dallas-based organization’s executive management team.

Dawson comes to Leadership Network after 22 years of increasing responsibility with Young Life, where he served in various national and international capacities, most recently as Special Assistant to the President.

Tom Wilson, CEO of Leadership Network, says, “This is an exciting day for Leadership Network. Over a period of many years, I have personally seen Tiger prove himself as a gifted and creative leader. His extensive experience with both ministry and marketplace leaders will provide a strong foundation as he directs our current Halftime programs and casts a vision for the future growth of this vital ministry. He also brings an extremely high level of energy to this new assignment—there IS a reason he is named ‘Tiger.’”

Halftime (www.halftime.org) grew from the 1995 book of the same name by Bob Buford, Leadership Network’s founder. That bestseller continues to prompt thousands of successful men and women to pause, reflect on what really matters and then redirect their time, talent and treasure toward eternal pursuits. The Halftime initiative supports and encourages this growing movement through strategic resources, events, books, DVDs, CDs, assessment tools, tips and coaching. Just as important, Leadership Network helps churches and non-profit organizations discover and deploy “Halftimers” into their individual ministries.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to join with Leadership Network in this exciting new adventure,” says Dawson. “In recent years, I have had the privilege of being involved with a number of high-capacity individuals who have made a huge impact in the ministry of Young Life. This new position will allow me to focus full-time on the mission of engaging and guiding marketplace leaders to serve the Kingdom of God to their fullest potential. And no organization is better positioned to lead this charge than Leadership Network.”

Wilson notes that Halftime plays a special role in the broader ministry of Leadership Network: “We have seen time and time again that even the largest and most innovative churches in the country need the talents, gifts and passion of committed Halftimers if they are to maximize the reach and impact of their ministry,” he said. “Under Tiger’s leadership, we will point even more of these proven performers toward greater service to their local churches, their communities and the world.”
